Airborne Nation - "The DNC Hack was a Hack"

"Listen, does it even matter who hacked this data? The important thing is the content that was given to the public." - Vladimir Putin

"The DNC Hack was a Hack"

Kent Allen Halliburton, Friday, September 2, 2016

The above quote was made by President Putin of Russia in an interview early on Friday, September 2, 2016. The hacking of the DNC servers is a bit of a catch 22 for American voters. First, and to their benefit, it shows first hand, how corrupt the American political system has truly become. This was a very important thing for people to see because may people were still holding on to the myth that America's democracy was the purest in the world. The email revealed and proved, unmistakably, the reality that the DNC organized an asserted attack against Senator Bernie Sanders with the intent of preventing him from getting the Democratic nomination for the Presidency of the United States. They restricted his air time, disrupted activities at local polling places, and intentionally corrupted automated voting machines. Further, the emails prove that they did this in a clear effort to ensure that Hillary Clinton received the nomination, at all costs.

The US Government has indicated that the hack was clearly an operation conducted by the Russian government, as they indicate that the work has Russia's signature all over it. Putin denied this accusation saying, "You know how many hackers there are today? They act so delicately and precisely that they can leave their mark, or even the mark of others, at the necessary time and place, camouflaging their activities as that of other hackers from other territories or countries. It’s an extremely difficult thing to check, if it’s even possible to check. At any rate, we definitely don’t do this at a state level. In order to accomplish that you need to have a finger on the pulse and get the specifics of the domestic political life of the U.S. I’m not sure that even our Foreign Ministry experts are sensitive enough."

So, why is the DNC hack a hack, or essentially, a friggin' joke? Has this question not already been answered? After everything that the emails made known about what the DNC did to build up a roadblock against a Sanders candidacy and to secure the nomination for Hillary Clinton, what has been the outcome? Despite all that is now know about what happened, Clinton is still the nominee, Sanders has been marginalized, and the only bone the DNC has thrown the progressive wing of its party is the resignation of Debbie Wassermann Schultz. Further, investigations into the conduct of the DNC have been suspend by President Obama, only to be resumed after the coming election, if at all. What amounts to the uncovering of a massive corruption ring has passed us by nearly unscathed.

This really is a joke. Imagine what would happen if such a large corruption ring were uncovered in China. Wait, one such ring has been uncovered in China. What was the result? People were hunted
down around the globe, first of all. They were, then, pulled back home from all over the planet for their part in the ring. Many of the men were sentenced to serve life terms in prison, some were sentenced to long terms of hard labor, and still others, were stood up against a wall and sent to their maker. This is not to suggest that that is what should be done in the United States; however, it would be nice if corrupt American politicians were at least made to answer for their activities, not just given a get out of jail free card at the whim of the President.

Despite this attack on the intellectual capacity of the American electorate, and despite what amounts to a monumental defeat for the progressive wing of the Democratic party, there is still a huge reason to be hopeful. While progressive democrats have suffered this large defeat, they did not just roll over over and take it. A great many of them have left the party entirely, as has Senator Sanders, who went back to being an Independent. The Green Party has become the new home for many of these disenchanted Democrats, and Dr. Jill Stein, the Green Party's candidate for President, has seen a dramatic increase in her fundraising. Now, this is not likely to produce an electoral victory for the White House in this election, but what it does do is position the Green Party to take advantage of the open and blatant corruption in this election, which has set the ground work for one of two things. There will either finally be a legitimate third party in the next election, or the Democrats will replace the crumbling Republicans on the Right, and the Green Party will take its place on the Left as the liberal wing of American politics. This is the Catch 22. These people have to accept defeat now, in the hopes that this defeat will turn into a victory four years from now. In the mean time, the people are stuck with either Clinton or Trump. Neither is worth their time.
